Afternoon: Buffalo Park, Langkawi

After a mouth-watering breakfast, make your way to Buffalo Park Langkawi for some dairy goodness. Set amidst lush greenery and located in the Nyior Chabang area, Buffalo Park is a dream destination for people of all ages. There are plenty of activities to do there, including hand-milking the buffalos, buffalo riding and `anok` (cart) riding, which are perfect for the children.

Once hunger kicks in, head to the park’s Charming Café located near the entrance. A must-try is their signature Buffalo Steak served with Mashed Potato. If desserts are what you fancy, they serve ice cream made out of buffalo milk. The highlight of this place is its Mozzarella cheese. It’s currently the only place in Malaysia where you can get Mozzarella cheese freshly made out of buffalo milk!

How To Get There
If you are planning to rent a car for your short trip in Langkawi, then it will only take you 10 minutes to travel to the park from The Smith House. If you are heading there from Breizh Up, it will take you about 24 minutes (16km) if you’re driving.

Evening: Eagle Square/Dataran Lang

Eagle Square

Also known as Dataran Lang, Eagle Square is one of Langkawi’s most popular man-made attractions. It features an enormous sculpture of an eagle poised to take flight. Most people consider this as the symbol of Langkawi, and taking a selfie with it is a must-do during their holiday in Langkawi. If anything, it’s the classic answer to the question “What’s there to do in Langkawi?”. As it is situated in an open space, we would recommend visiting this monument during the late evening to avoid getting sunburned. This symbolic monument is also within walking distance of Jetty Point Mall, so you can go on a shopping spree and end day 1 with a bang!

How To Get There
Getting there from Buffalo Park Langkawi will take you about 15 minutes if you’re driving. Alternatively, if you were to head there from The Smith House, it will be about 20 minutes.

3 Days, 2 Nights in Langkawi: Day 2’s Itinerary

Morning: Breakfast at Smiling Buffalo, Langkawi

Begin day 2 with a big smile at Smiling Buffalo, Langkawi. Don’t be confused, this isn’t a all-things-buffalo cafe like the one at Buffalo Park, Langkawi. This amazing cafe is loved for its banana pancake, banana waffle, chocolate waffle, French toast and poached eggs on toast. Some of its more popular beverage options are its cappuccino and lemongrass ginger drink. Every now and then, there will be unplugged performances. Furthermore, its natural lighting, leafy decorations and sandy paths emulate a beach-like experience.

How To Get There
Smiling Buffalo is 17 km away from The Smith House, which means you will need to drive for about 15 minutes.

Afternoon: Kilim Geoforest Park, Langkawi

Bask in the beauty of nature at Kilim Geoforest Park, Langkawi. This beautiful mangrove swamp is home to many wildlife, ranging from otters and lizards to macaques and even tree crabs. This geoforest park also has a couple of remarkable features that rival other geoforest parks around the world, such as its limestone forests, pristine mangrove, landform and dramatic karstic landscapes. There are quite a number of activities to do here, so it will definitely take up your entire afternoon, if not the entire day.
