Tandem Skydiving

Tandem Skydiving

Tandem skydiving is the epitome of extreme activities! For those who do not know, tandem skydiving is basically skydiving with a Tandem instructor that’s responsible for the entire skydiving process. This includes directing freefall, and the opening and steering of the parachute. However, skydiving is not only for the thrills. It’s also for the magnificent view that comes with it, which is why skydiving in Langkawi is all the better, because you’ll be able to enjoy the stunning view of its beaches and coastlines as you skydive from over 10,000 feet!

If you ask the locals where to skydive in Langkawi, they will definitely recommend Skydive Langkawi, because the organisation owns the record of Asia’s highest skydive, taking you up to 14,000 feet, as opposed to the usual 10,000 feet. Furthermore, all their tandem instructors are Australian Parachute Federation certified, and have made over 35,000 jumps. Most importantly, the organisation view safety as their main priority: operating strictly to Australian Parachuting Safety Standards, always using the latest equipment available, and they have 20 years of experience and an excellent safety record.

Outdoor Watersports Activities

Outdoor Watersports Activities

You’re in a beautiful archipelago made up of 99 islands, so what will be the activity you look forward to the most? Those that involve water, of course! There’s an abundance of outdoor water activities in Langkawi, and we’re not exaggerating!

Jet Ski Rides and Tours

Nothing beats the thrill of riding on a speeding jet ski in open waters! A single jet ski can carry up to two people, which makes it perfect for couples. If your child would like to give it a try, they can do so, as long as an adult is handling the jet ski.

There are also jet ski tours available, where experienced jet ski riders will be your chaperone on an island hopping tour. The tours are usually customised – a tour for one, for two, and even a private tour.

Kayaking

When it comes to this outdoor water activity in Langkawi, it’s usually by the beach or in mangrove forests. Mangrove kayaking is usually offered by water sports companies, packaged in a tour with a guide and light refreshments. It all depends on what you prefer – relaxing while kayaking by the beach with your friends, or going on an eye-opening and educational tour in the mangroves.

Parasailing

If skydiving is a little too much for you, this one just might do the trick. This is how parasailing works: a person that’s attached to a parachute-resembling parasail wing is towed behind a boat. This vehicle will move at high speed, bringing you up to the skies where you’ll enjoy a magnificent bird’s eye view of the island.

Sea Rodeo (Banana Boats & More)

This is arguably the watersports activity that most families look forward to in Langkawi. A sea rodeo ride is similar to parasailing, except that it’s on water. A banana boat (6 people), crazy donut (6 people), or sofa float (4 people), is towed behind a boat that moves at high speed. Families love this as they can scream, shout and laugh out loud together.

Snorkeling and Diving

Swim alongside beautiful marine life when you’re in Langkawi. Payar Marine Park is the go-to island for snorkeling or diving, as it has a beautiful beach with clear waters, big restaurants, and a beautiful underwater observatory.

Ask the locals and they will tell you that Toro Watersports is the company you should go to for such activities! They offer everything mentioned on top and more, such as fishing trips and sunset cruises! All of their packages also include the option of adding food & beverage, return transfers, and even a GoPro, inclusive of a memory card!

Skytrex Adventure Langkawi

If you’re a true adrenaline junkie, you must have heard of sky-trekking! Skytrex Adventure Park Langkawi is one of the few adventure parks in Malaysia that brings you the ultimate sky-trekking experience. For the uninitiated, sky-trekking is where fly, swing, glide from tree to tree, and even dangle on various aerial obstacles suspended above. Unlike getting on a zipline and letting it do all the work, Skytrex Adventure Park Langkawi is for those who prefer a more challenging obstacle course.

There are three obstacle courses, namely Little Legend, Eagle Thrill and Island Extreme. Each of them come with different difficulties and weight and height requirements. Children are able to participate, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

To ensure that the challengers stay safe, Skytrex Adventure Langkawi conducts frequent checks on all the cables, harnesses and platforms. If they are damaged, rest assured that it will be replaced or repaired as soon as possible. Furthermore, there are always instructors on the ground that are prepared to rescue the challengers if required.
